Vitamin Secret CALMS Anxiety and Depression in ONE MONTH?

If you’re into classic rock ‘n’ roll, I’m sure you remember “Mother’s Little Helper,” the Rolling Stones hit that topped the charts in 1966.

What is it? Vitamin B6.

We know that vitamin B6 helps produce the “feel good” neurotransmitters – like serotonin, dopamine, and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) – that regulate mood and emotion and STAVE OFF anxiety and depression.

And now, a new study has found that HIGH doses of vitamin B6 – and to a lesser extent, vitamin B12 – can safely improve inhibition, nervousness, mood swings, visual processing disorders, and other symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Researchers randomly divided 478 adults into three groups. The first group got 100 mg of vitamin B, the second group got 1,000 μg of vitamin B12, and a third group got a placebo.

After just ONE month, the vitamin B12 group reported a downward trend in anxiety.

Even better, the B6 group reported a noticeable DIP in anxiety and reduced symptoms of depression. And BOTH groups reported no side effects.

How does it work? Well, researcher concluded that both B vitamins – particularly B6 – deliver key micronutrients that regulate mood.

Moreover, they believe these micronutrients could ultimately become a “nutritional psychiatry” treatment for anxiety and depression.

Bye-bye, benzos!

Friend, these results aren’t surprising – especially since several studies have tied LOW vitamin B6 levels to anxiety and depression.

For example, one study found that B6 LOWERS high serum levels of homocysteine, an amino acid associated with depression and other psychiatric problems.

Other research has connected LOW vitamin B6 blood levels to depression in older adults. One study of 250 seniors found that those DEFICIENT in B6 had TWICE the risk of depression.

How to Let it “B”

Your body can’t produce vitamin B6, but you can up your levels through foods or supplements.

Start by filling your plate with dark leafy greens, poultry, fish, chickpeas, and bananas – all good B6 sources.

But since the study used HIGH doses of vitamin B6 (100 mg vs. a typical dose of 1.3 mg), you’ll need a supplement if you’re aiming for similar results.

Look for a vitamin B complex supplement that contains ALL of the B vitamins – including vitamins B6 and B12, which both showed promising study results.

But always speak to your doctor before taking this or any other supplements – especially if you’re interested in taking a higher than normal dosage.
