Tangy HERB Improves Memory and Prevents Alzheimer’s?
Whether you’re the chef of the family, who feels most at home in the kitchen…
Or the lucky recipient, who feels most at home at the table…
There’s NOTHING better than a delicious, home-cooked meal.
But now, research has revealed a new reason to put on an apron. And it starts with a tangy herb that can punch up savory dishes like roast chicken, stews, soups, salads, and more.
But that’s not ALL it can do.
As far back as the Middle Ages, it was prized by Emperor Charlemagne for its potent healing abilities.
And today, it’s been shown to work wonders on the BRAINS of healthy folks.
Plus, it may even IMPROVE cognition in Alzheimer’s patients… and help STOP the disease in its tracks!
Spicing Up Cognition
If you know your way around a kitchen, there’s a good chance you have a container of Salvia officinalis sitting on your pantry shelf.
But you probably call it by its more familiar name – sage.
Well, if sage isn’t already a part of your regular menu, maybe it should be.
Because this power-packed herb is loaded with antioxidants that can give your BRAIN an extra layer of protection.
For example, six studies examined sage’s brain-enhancing effects on healthy individuals… and ALL found that sage significantly improved memory, mood, or BOTH.
In fact, sage’s brain-boosting abilities are SO potent, it’s even been shown to sharpen cognition in Alzheimer’s patients!
In one study, seniors with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease were given either a sage extract supplement or a placebo each day.
After four months, those who got sage showed significantly BETTER memory, reasoning, and cognitive function than the placebo group. Sage also appeared to reduce agitation.
You see, there’s a chemical messenger called acetylcholine (ACH) that plays a key role in thinking and memory.
But over time, ACH levels can drop… which could signal that Alzheimer’s isn’t far behind. (Folks who ALREADY have Alzheimer’s have low levels of ACH.)
This fact isn’t lost on Big Pharma, who’ve created a SLEW of drugs designed to slow the breakdown of ACH for Alzheimer’s patients.
But these drugs have been linked to headache, dizziness, confusion, falls, and brain bleeds.
Well, sage to the rescue, which can NATURALLY stop ACH from breaking down – WITHOUT dangerous side effects.
A Sage Decision
You may already be using fresh sage in your recipes, or maybe you have some dried sage or sage oil in your pantry.
If not, consider adding this earthy spice to your shopping list – and your menu.
After all, it can go a LONG way towards safeguarding your brain health and cognitive function – and keeping Alzheimer’s from taking hold.
You can even find sage tea in health food stores and some gourmet grocery stores.
But to ensure you’re getting adequate amounts for brain health, I recommend a sage extract supplement.
The typical daily dosage ranges from 280 mg to 1,500 mg for up to 12 weeks.
But get your doctor’s approval first, along with his recommended dosage for your needs.
