Going for the KRILL

Most folks think that exercise is all they need to maintain muscle mass during their golden years.

It’s a BIG part of the puzzle, yes… but it’s not the ONLY part.

See, you can lift weights until your arms are numb… do jumping jacks until you keel over… and run, hike, or walk until your knees and hips beg for mercy.

But if your muscles don’t get the specific nutrients they NEED to repair and restore themselves, you’ll just get sore and tired… instead of stronger and more mobile.

And as a new study found, one of those key nutrients is krill oil.

This oil is made from krill, a shrimp-like crustacean, and it’s packed with two of the potent  omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil – DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid).

Among their many anti-aging benefits, DHA and EPA help build muscle.

Krill oil is also a key source of choline, another multi-tasking nutrient that’s essential to muscle function.

The study involved 102 seniors over 65 who barely got any exercise at all. They randomly received a daily dose of either krill oil or placebo, which they took for six months.

Afterwards, one group had significantly bigger muscles and better muscle function.

Yep, it was the seniors who took krill. This group boosted their grip strength nearly 11 percent… increased their thigh muscle strength by 9.3 percent… and upped their thigh muscle thickness by 3.5 percent.

Krill oil also led to a 17 percent spike in M-wave – an important measure of muscle function.

Muscling In

Friend, clicking your heels three times won’t help you stay healthy as you get older…

But staying active WILL.

And of course, moving around requires healthy muscles.

As this study found, the omega-3s in krill oil can help seniors maintain and build muscle size, strength, and function…

And they could help you, too.

But don’t stop there.

As I told you earlier, any type of physical activity can help keep your muscles strong and functional.

If you can’t quite manage regular exercise, take a leisurely walk or do chair exercises. Anything that gets you UP and MOVING is enough. Not only will it help improve your muscles, but also, your overall physical and mental health.

And don’t forget to give your muscles OTHER key nutrients they need, like animal proteins from meat and dairy.

Plus, if your doctor says it’s okay, consider branched-chain amino acids. Taking a supplement helps ensure you’re getting adequate amounts of these essential muscle building blocks.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, no arbitration under this Agreement may be joined to an arbitration involving any other party subject to this Agreement, whether through a class action, private attorney general proceeding, class arbitration proceedings or otherwise.
