Your “illness” may actually be a vitamin deficiency

Here’s why you’re not crazy (even if you’re acting like you are)

No one is infallible — not even a doctor.

But many doctors don’t discover how wrong they were with their patients’ treatments until the autopsy results come in.

One study estimates that misdiagnoses — which account for up to 20 percent of diagnosed illnesses — actually KILL as many people annually as breast cancer.

The movie star and musician caught the mistake in time to do something about it — but there’s another case of a grossly-misdiagnosed condition that’s literally one for the history books.

Historical accounts of our 16th president Abraham Lincoln and his fight to end the Civil War and abolish slavery have often included some “crazy” stories about his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln.

A recent CNN news story, however, suggests that the first lady wasn’t actually “crazy” when she was committed 150 years ago.

Sure, she had delusions and hallucinations. But according to medical historian and scholar Dr. John Sotos, based on the latest science — and more than 100 historic sources and 678 letters and photos — she may actually have been suffering from a vitamin deficiency.

And, as we know today, untreated vitamin deficiencies can turn deadly.

Specifically, Dr. Sotos thinks that Mary suffered from pernicious anemia, a severe deficiency in vitamin B12.

Mary had fevers, headaches, trouble with her walk, pins and needles, swelling, and breathing and heart rate issues — all symptoms that are indicative of PA.

Her erratic behavior perplexed 19th century doctors, who blamed everything from her menstrual period to just plain insanity. But her case has also baffled scientists since then — and as a result, she’s been posthumously diagnosed with Lyme disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, and even diabetes.

It makes sense — now — because PA impacts the central nervous system. But in the 1800s, there was no way of diagnosing it. And so with no way of treating the root cause of her bizarre behavior, they institutionalized Mary, who perished never knowing what had gone wrong.

Well, my friend, it’s 2016 — and while many patients are STILL being misdiagnosed, and their symptoms are just being covered up, you don’t have to be one of them.

What the mainstream considers “normal” levels of B12 may not be “normal” for you — and B12 deficiencies are increasingly common in older folks.

Even if you’re eating a “healthy” diet and taking your daily multi, you still might not be getting everything you need.
