Avoid Gallbladder Surgery With THIS?
Quick, name the 10 most COMMON surgeries in this country…
I’m sure you’ll have no problem coming up with popular procedures like cataract surgery, surgical repair of broken bones, and joint replacement…and you’d be right on the money.
But odds are, you’ll NEVER come up with THIS surgery.
Because even though it’s a wildly popular one – and nearly as common as hip replacement – it gets almost NO attention at all.
Yet every year, more than one million Americans are hospitalized for gallstone surgery — and afterwards, head home without their gallbladder.
But research has uncovered a simple way to help LOWER the risk of gallstone disease…
So maybe YOU won’t have to kiss your gallbladder goodbye.
A Stone-Cold Risk
About 25 million Americans have gallbladder disease, including its most common symptom – gallstones.
And while some stones are relatively painless, others are agonizing – coming on suddenly, bringing intense pain like you’ve been repeatedly punched in the gut.
In a way, you WERE.
And if gallstones start becoming REALLY problematic, you could be rushed into surgery to remove your gallbladder.
But the study found a simple and affordable way to avoid painful surgery and its risks…
And it all boils down to vitamin E.
See, researchers knew that oxidative stress is a key risk factor for gallbladder disease… so they set their sights on this potent antioxidant.
They wanted to see if seniors with LOW levels of vitamin E had a HIGHER risk of gallbladder disease.
Turns out, they DID.
Researchers found that the subjects who had gallbladder disease were DEFICIENT in two of the eight forms of vitamin E – alpha tocopherols and gamma tocopherols.
The strongest link was with alpha tocopherols, which significantly spiked the risk of disease. Low gamma tocopherol levels also increased the risk, but the connection wasn’t quite as strong.
Based on these findings, researchers believe that UPPING vitamin E levels could bring that risk back DOWN.
Take it E-asy
Friend, more research is needed, but the signs point to vitamin E supplementation as a way to reduce the risk of this uber-common disease.
So it’s probably a good idea to boost YOUR vitamin E intake – especially if you’ve already gone a round or two with gallstones.
Rich food sources of vitamin E include nuts, seeds, green leafy vegetables, and fortified cereals.
But to REALLY bring your levels up, you need a supplement.
Rather than just giving your body one or both of the vitamin E forms in the study…
Look for a supplement that contains all eight of vitamin E’s essential tocopherols and tocotrienols, which your body needs for overall good health. The recommended dosage is 1,200 to 2,000 IU per day.
