Is there anything truly “new” anymore? It seems like every recent movie release is a remake or a rehashed version of an old story… and every TV series premiere has been based on a movie!

A newly-published study about pain management is no exception — because the data is from the last 50 years.

This review of 105 clinical trials from the last five decades finally gives credence to some of the time-tested treatments I’ve been touting the benefits of for years.

Eureka! It turns out that acupuncture, yoga, massage, and more actually ARE effective ways to fight pain!

Welcome to the 21st century, when we’re just now giving millennia-old treatments a fair shake.

The study, published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings, finds that the ancient Chinese medicinal practice of acupuncture can ease common back pain and knee osteoarthritis… massage therapy can relieve chronic neck pain… and the gentle Chinese martial art tai chi can lessen back pain and alleviate fibromyalgia symptoms.

For years, I’ve sent patients to the chiropractor for fibromyalgia, migraines, and neck pain — and now, researchers are admitting that chiropractic and osteopathic spinal manipulation can ease chronic back pain.

The report even embraces traditional relaxation techniques once thought of as too “hippie-dippie” to actually be therapeutic — including meditation, which can help with migraines.

It’s a shame this came to light AFTER opioid abuse has reached epidemic proportions. But better late than never.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, no arbitration under this Agreement may be joined to an arbitration involving any other party subject to this Agreement, whether through a class action, private attorney general proceeding, class arbitration proceedings or otherwise.
