Holiday scents come with plenty of toxins November 17, 2016
More than a third of those surveyed complained of headaches and other physical ailments as a result of their exposure to chemical fragrances, which tend to be full of toxins. And there’s no time like the present to turn over an unscented leaf — because the holidays are the stinkiest time of the year! Read On

Natural Response: Cure almost any burn No scarring, no skin grafting July 1, 2010
As this issue is concerned with preventing skin cancer, tanning better, and lasting longer in the sun before we need to apply sunscreen or take cover, I’ve included this letter, received by Nutrition & Healing in 1999, about treatment of a severe electrical burn. What’s that have to do with spending the summer in the sun? This treatment actually works for nearly any burn, including sunburn, scalding hot water, cooking burns, chemical burns, burns from campfires and other fires…in fact, any burn except for a “full thickness burn” requiring hospitalization and skin grafting. Forget those needles erase your wrinkles with a powdered drink mix – Plus 2 other all-natural age-fighters your skin will thank you for January 1, 2008
A few weeks ago, our 31-year-old daughter came home for a visit. She hadn’t seen her mother for several weeks, and not long after she arrived, she asked what Holly had been doing this time to make her skin look so good. As she put it, Holly’s skin looked healthier than ever. She com-mented that her skin tone was deeper and more vibrant and that some of the little wrinkles around Holly’s eyes were actually gone.

The proof is in: Breathe easier with beeswax May 1, 2004
In October, you read about the health benefits of beeswax candles, and about the air pollution caused by paraffin and other candles. The anecdotal reports focus mostly on respiratory conditions: Burning beeswax candles seems to have a beneficial effect on asthma, sinus problems, and allergies. When I researched beeswax last fall, there wasn’t much scientific evidence to back up or explain those claims. The reports that were available attributed the effects to the negative ions burning beeswax emits. Negative ions are nature’s air purifiers, cleaning the air of dust, mold, bacteria, viruses, and other pollutants.

Clinical Tip 115 – Beat nagging allergies and sinus problems–just by minding your own beeswax October 1, 2003
It’s not everyday you see nuns in full religious garb anymore, so when two walked into the Tahoma Clinic recently, they attracted a bit of attention from both the staff and patients. But that wasn’t what I remember most about their visit. Before they left the Clinic that day, the nuns taught me an approach to respiratory health I’d never even heard of before.

Clinical Tip 105 – The bees’ secret for healing burns (including sunburn) July 1, 2002
I’ve never seen anything achieve results in healing burns like the natural, beeswax and “bee product” based ointment called Whole Skin Ointment, which is used extensively in Chinese burn clinics. I can’t say for sure exactly what they mean by “bee products,” which sounds somewhat disturbingly vague, but the miraculous recoveries these mysterious ingredients facilitate certainly make up for the ambiguity.
